Air your shikibuton in the sun once every few weeks, as is traditional in Japan, to keep it fresh and dry. The kakebuton duvet cover is machine washable; the mattress itself should be spot-cleaned only.
Single (100 × 200 cm) suits one sleeper. Semi-Double (120 × 200 cm) and Double (140 × 200 cm) give more room for couples or those who prefer extra space. All sizes use traditional Japanese futon proportions.
