No. We import in bulk directly to our own warehouse in Riga, Latvia, and duties are cleared at that point — not per order. Once your order ships from Riga to you within the Baltics, it's a domestic EU delivery, so there are no additional customs charges or import duties for you to pay.
You can return your order within 14 days of delivery for a refund, as long as it's unused and in its original packaging. Return shipping is paid by the customer — contact us via the contact page to arrange a return.
That's on us, not the standard return policy above. Contact us within 14 days of delivery and we'll send a replacement or a full refund, including return shipping — at no cost to you.
The shikibuton mattress is dense, layered cotton batting covered in linen; the kakebuton duvet is a lighter quilted cotton-and-fiber fill; the tatami mat is woven from igusa, a soft rush grass traditional in Japanese flooring. We buy in bulk from established Japanese futon manufacturers — see our Our Story page for more on sourcing, including what we haven't published yet.

All major debit and credit cards, processed securely through Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
Air the shikibuton mattress in the sun every few weeks, as is traditional in Japan, to keep it fresh. The kakebuton duvet cover is machine washable; the mattress itself should be spot-cleaned only.
